Getting involved in EERI really helped me tune my engineering
intuition and apply a lot of concepts learnt from my class. Being a Building Science major, it allowed me to apply abstract architecture thinking and merge them with my structured engineering knowledge and create something that was truly unique.

I would have to say EERI-SEAOSC is the reason I am a structural engineer today. The SDC competition was my first introduction to seismic engineering and after my first year I was hooked for the rest of my journey at USC. Working effortlessly towards the competition to design a structurally sound building, then seeing your building shake and survive an earthquake is truly a rewarding experience.
